BART(Bay Area Rapid Transit) Police Shoot Man in Back

Well, well in this new year the BART police got the 1st kill.  A 2 year rookie of the force shot and killed a BART rider at the Fruitvale station in Oakland, Ca on New Years morning after the 22-year-old Oscar Grant III came from celebrating with others.  It seems that a fight broke out on the train and police were called to the scene.  However, from the look of several videos, that’s right videos, the officers were using excessive force from the start.  Blows were being thrown while the suspects were handcuffed and lying on the ground.  The victim, Oscar Grant III was sitting on the ground while the police surrounded him and about 2-3 others that were handcuffed.  It was said that Mr. Grant was trying to comply and encourage others to comply with the shoot first officers.  After being told to lay on his stomach, the suspect Officer Johannes Mehserle, with the help of another cops knee to the back and neck continue to handcuff Mr Grant.  It appears that the suspect Officer Johannes Mehserle got frustrated and reached for his weapon while the victim, Mr. Grant lay on his stomach.  The suspect Officer Johannes Mehserle shot Mr. Grant in the lower back with a .40 caliber handgun.  The bullet then ricochet of the ground and through Mr. Grants lungs.  The victim, Mr. Grant died some hours later from the gun shot wound he received from the suspect Officer Johannes Mehserle.

It seems to me that in this day and age, cops would realize that technology is king and that everyone and their mothers (literally) has a camera/video cell phone.  This shit has been caught on video and I have it here for you, but I must warn it is graphic and disturbing.

  1. I saw what everyone else saw. The thing here, was the officer straight out shot an unarmed man in the back, because he was sick of the guy. There was no chaos, and the KID was UNARMED!!!! There is no friggin excuse in the world for what he did!!!!! Thought it was a tazer gun?????? Come on already! Any trained moran can easily distinguished the difference between a tazer and a 9 mm pistol!!! This guy needs to be in prison for first degree murder, period!!!!

I totally agree with you and now look at the outcome of such tragedy. Although, what happen over the weekend with the 4 officers being killed has nothing directly to do with the Oscar Grant, it just shows the frustration of the black community that has been getting abuse and killed by the hand of officers who don’t belong to the community their policing.

  2. I want to know where in all this, is the police that is supposed to policing-the police????It started with Mr. Rodney King being unlawfully and illegally assaulted by California police, and with no police policing the police, now we have them out all over shooting unarmed, and even HANDCUFFED in the back, and nothing happening to them AT ALL for it!!! They are caught openly laughing on camera after shooting an unarmed PEACEFUL protester woman, in the face with rubber bullets, and saying what a great shot it was??!!!!! These cops are way out of line here, and something is past time needing done about them!!!It makes me sick, and they will imprison a guy for 10 years over smoking a joint!!

Especially during the Black Panther days and the way they were dismantle. When are we going to take responsibility for our community again like the Panthers did? When are we going to have people from the community policing their own neighborhoods. That could be a start of a great solution.

  3. I am wondering how free our America really is, when you cannot use free speech about this situation here. My post was right on about this, and was deleted.
